PostSubject: Animal Crossing: City Folk - Not all it's cracked up to be?   Wed Jan 07, 2009 8:20 am

How does Animal Crossing: City Folk appear to other renditions in the series. Is AC:CF THE Animal Crossing Experiance?
What do I think? Simply put . . . No. Animal Crossing: Wild World was just IT. It is the ultimate in Animal Crossing period.

I partially agree with that. If the city folk degree of advanced graphics could be on Wild World that would just be the dang awesomest thing ever. Wild World was easier to get wifi set up. Sure, you had to plan wfc, but DS to DS was pretty handy. Wild World was best. I probably only think that because in Wild World my friends and I shared money and helped eachother like a real community. City Folk, just is missing the it factor. Whatever it may be, Wild World had it. City Folk is great for rainy days/ snowy days I don't have school/ and when I feel like shopping but ww I play any time

Yeah, I guess that's what made it great. The Portable factor. You could bring over your whole DS system to your friends place and play together. And because it's a handheld game, everybody had it. When one person saw you had it they would be like "Oh, that games cool! What's it called?".

Mmm, I agree. I bought the game when it first came out. I've only played it a couple of times since, I've taken a strong dislike for City Folk. It's just so boring, And everything about it is difficult. I much prefere Wild World. Yes it's portable, But it's much more easy to set up. When your bored, you can just straight away enter the world on your DS. But with the Wii, You have to turn it on, Put your wrist strap on.. Blahh Blahh. Etc. -_-'

Well CF doesn't take me to set up since mine's always on...plus, I never really needed other people in animal crossing so its not that difficult for me... I have strategies... and strategies are what made me a millionare even BEFORE i had ar... I kind of like CF events better because you can celebrate them with friends and on ww the events had to pause... and in the city I don't have to wait for the people to come to my town...

True, But that was the fun of it. Waking up, Playing Animal Crossing - Hoping someone new has visited your town. It was a treat. But now.. It's just crap. ;l

I hope Nintendo does another Animal Crossing for Wii because us Veteran players deserve some REAL new features even though it's highly unlikely.

Oh and I wished on the Wii for Animal Crossing they had Classic Controller support. It's a real PAIN in the Butt to have to raise the Wii Remote every time you want to sell something or open up the inventory.

I like both equally, but they both have (a lot of) things that definetly could have been improved. Like on the wii game, I have my brother for the wii, or get my dad to stop watching football so I can play, and on the DS i have my own. But the wii game has a little more of that zen quality AC has always had, especially in the city.

One of the biggest problems I have with AC:Wii is that there is no classic controller support so you are always raising your arm to select stuff in the menu I mean they could have even just mapped some menu navagation controls to the darn nun-chuck!

Honestly, if you aren't lazy, the whole concept of "raising your arm" really isn't that hard. Plus, you can use the nunchuk, nand the + and - buttons go left and right in player menus like L and R did on the ds. And, on the wii you can use left and right on the + thing on the top of the wiimote to quickly change tools/ party items, and down to unequip stuff. There's even more shortcut keys I could tell you about but I won't becuse all you have to do is read the instruction manual... the instruction manual? Read The Wii game instruction manual... I'd rater read it right now! it's true...says who? so true.. once you've read it your gloom will dissapear the bad on the game is hard to hear when in you brain the instructions cheer so go read the instructions maaaaaaaannnnnnuuuuuaaaaallll *bursts into flames* you'd have to have seen charlie the unicorn 2 to understand my song.

Yes but you HAVE to use the remote to drag things to sell and put on clothes. Its a total pain in the ass. Every time me and kate turn it on after 5 minutes we go "F$@K This!" and turn it off. The Visuals haven't been greatly updated since AC GC and don't say it's not true because it is and all the staff on IGN have mentioned this but then again it's Nintendo's Fault because the Wii is the least powerful Console this Gen not just Graphics Wise but over all! Honestly are they going to be responsible for killing their own series? do they even play their own games because if they did the would have added Classic Controller support. I play ACWW literally all night because of my body clock. I play it from 1am - 6am.
Animal Crossing: Wild World is enjoyable to play where CF is just complete idiocy. Why would I complete a game that is almost identical to it's predecessor? Me & Kate ask ourselves this everyday.

Well, there are games where all you do is raise your arm and move around. I bet you'll say they suck too. Mad <----- see that? that's pretty much all this debate leads to Razz We each have our own opinions and it is expected of us all to respect that. One of my favorite sayings: Expect respect. Once you cross the line, so does everybody else. And I have a pretty colourful vocabulary... Now you guys have me spelling color with a u! That'd sooo not american. gaaah! so unnatural!

No, the difference is, in those games your moving around constantly and that's what you'd expect from those games. But in AC which is a game you play while sitting in front of the TV [not standing] you don't want to be having to lift your arm all the time. It's different when it's something like Wii Sports where you're standing up and moving around but when it's AC having to lift your arm over and over again is a very stupid mistake on Nintendo's part.

What the heck? That's a really bad Idea! Always place your sensor where Nintendo recommended such as on top of your Television or down the bottom.
