Family, Party Players:
Nintendo once again adds another sequel to their popular Mario Party series and manages to renew it's charms and entertaining gameplay.
If you've played Mario Party before you know what to expect. You play a virtual board game staring your favorite characters from the Mario universe. Each turn you roll a dice and move around the board collecting coins. These coins are then used to purchase Power Stars. The player with the most Power Stars and Coins left at the end of the game Wins. But It's not as simple as that! At the end of each round all players participate in a Mini-Game. These Mini-Games vary from Trying to avoid getting hit and being the last character standing to races and others such as mere games of luck where everyone has equal skill. The games can also be played in many different ways for example it could be a 4 VS 4 Player game where all players face off against each other or it could be a 2 VS 2 Player game where you face off against a team there is also the occasionally irritating 1 VS 3 Player games which have become some what of a challenge over the games series. The controls work well for the game and are incorperated in many ways such as using the Wii Remote as an aiming pointer or a paddle on a boat or a steering wheel in the racing games or even a paint brush! The gameplay is smooth and loading times are kept to a minimum. The Verdict:
Entertaining, funny and occasionally bizzare. Mario Party 8 is a solid entry in the series and continues the series tradition and blend of games and challange.Rating: 8.5 / 10
